Inova FitNET is a twelve-week Internet only program that addresses all areas of physical activity and fitness, whether you are a beginner or a regular exerciser who is looking for a little guidance. Over the twelve weeks, you have access to a private website full of helpful fitness information, and also your very own personal Fit Coach. Support will include weekly emails, personalized fitness goals, and telephone consultations.
This gradual lifestyle change program will help you to learn more about physical fitness and exercise, help you set your personal fitness goals, and help you set up a comprehensive program to meet those goals ~ all tailored to your individual needs.

What exactly is Inova FitNET and how can it help me?
Exercise is hard. If it wasn’t, everyone would do it, right? Inova FitNET is designed to help you learn about exercise, set goals for exercise, and find what works best for you to achieve those goals. The beauty of Inova FitNET is that you do not have to join a gym, a class, or purchase a lot of equipment. You and your personal coach work together to find what works for you using what you have available for fitness and fitting that into your busy lifestyle. Your personal coach is there for you, every step of the way…encouraging you, educating you, supporting you, and giving you the push you need, when you need it. That’s what your coach is there to do for you!
I’m interested! How does Inova FitNET work?
First, you need to register for the program. You can do this by phone (703.750.8800) or online. *Please Note! If you have certain health conditions, you may not be eligible for the program. View the health screening questionnaire; if you answer yes to any of the questions, you are not eligible for the Inova FitNET program.* Then, get started right away! After registering and filling out a few short forms, you will be emailed a username and password that you use to access the Inova FitNET website. Your personal Fit Coach will email you within 48 hours. Read the Inova FitNET lessons and tipsheets online, in the comfort of your home, at the time that works best for you. In the first two weeks, you and your coach will set your personal fitness goals that will guide you for the remainder of the program. Share your progress with your coach with at least once weekly emails…you can email as often as you like though! Coaches will respond within 48 hours.

What will I be doing over the twelve weeks?
You will be reading online classes, with topics ranging from smart goal setting to maintaining your motivation to exercise. (See the Inova FitNET syllabus) There will be a few ‘homework’ assignments, such as filling out your Fitness History for your coach and weekly activity logs. Each week you’ll work on specific fitness goals that you and your coach set together in the first two weeks of the program. And of course, you’ll be emailing your personal Fit Coach!
What is the cost of Inova FitNET?
Inova FitNET costs $200.00 per twelve week session. This breaks down to a weekly cost of $16.67 for unlimited support from a qualified fitness professional and an individualized fitness program. The average cost of a personal trainer weekly session is around $60.00 per hour, on top of gym fees. Inova FitNET guarantees you a qualified professional and unlimited support for a third of the cost.
What if I do not want to continue with Inova FitNET?
You can discontinue participation in the program at any time. However, you will only be refunded for the program if you cancel within 7 business days of registering. If you chose to cancel within 7 business days, you will be given a refund for the cost of the program minus a $25.00 processing fee. After 7 days, no refund will be given. Why will I be asked to fill out surveys during the course of Inova FitNET?
Inova FitNET is a new program and we are collecting information on the program’s effectiveness and usability.
